Is being smart a privilege? Do logic and reason show us the right way? Sometimes the answer to these questions being “No” feels more logical than being “Yes.”

The way to achieve success in life is actually very simple. In order: dreaming, praying and wanting, working hard, self-confidence, and patience. The rest is just details (planning, positive attitude, a good team, etc.). What confuses my mind is how success is defined today and what we do for this success. And questioning how natural what we do is compared to our environment today and the environment up to a century ago.

Imagine that until a century ago, there were people who lived naturally. There was almost no technology compared to today, and a more natural life than the people living in villages today was lived in the centers of cities.

The conclusion I draw from this process is the NORMALIZATION syndrome that urbanization has injected into our blood and poisons us day by day. Because we are social beings striving to live in harmony with our environment, I sometimes feel like we are living in a prison in this race to be normal. And like every inmate, I start asking myself questions and questioning my life.

Is what is normal always natural? I can say “No” without hesitation.

  • Is homosexuality normal? Today, yes. Is it natural? No.
  • Is it normal to slaughter a chicken and cook it in the apartment parking lot? No. Is it natural? Yes.
  • Is it normal to go to a solarium? Yes. Is it natural? No.

There are so many things we can compare between normal and natural… Whichever way you look at it, we go against our nature by living our lives in a normal way. We, who are ‘human’ ruining our own nature, are massacring our World. We start wars, we kill our brothers. We cut down trees, we wipe our asses. Then we want "WORLD PEACE." We claim that everyone is a brother.

In the past, we obtained our food from the fields we grew ourselves, our shelter from the houses we built ourselves, and our clothing and food from the animals we herded ourselves. Today; specific people build, specific people engage in agriculture, specific people produce technology, etc…

The biggest companies we work for pay us 2000–10000 liras salary. We make millions of dollars for those who give us this salary. Under normal conditions, we spend our lives consuming what others produce. We live the way society conditions us, consciously or unconsciously. We do not break our routine, we take care to remain normal.

But it never ends. Wars never end. Those who die of hunger never end. Brother still kills brother. While we work every day to make our lives better, the World never goes well. We think we will be better with a better house we buy. But we always want better. What about the new phone we will buy! Touch screen… We reach the information of the world with one button. Come on! We have no idea about our next-door neighbor, what if you connect to the world!

While all this is happening, and questions and answers are clear enough… I ask again.

Am I stupid? Why does nothing change? Why are these walls not being demolished?

Then a lover (poet) calls out…

Knowledge is to know science, knowledge is to know oneself
If you do not know yourself, what is the use of reading
What is the purpose of reading, it is to know God

That lover tells me that you know nothing. He says you are STUPID!
