New Media Order and Social Media
“New Media Order” has become a term we have acquired quite a lot of ear familiarity with, especially recently. It has settled into the vocabulary of the youth living within the internet. Those who have the opportunity to directly follow the source of the news can instantly create content with their own internet publishing tools. Thanks to blogs, dictionaries, and sharing sites (Facebook, Twitter), they easily reach people. These tools open new channels. The spread of mobile communication tools allows sharing literally simultaneously. Even though it is often exposed to lies, gossip, and disinformation, it seems that it cannot be prevented from being the preferred source of information.
The news website dipnot.tv, led by Cüneyt Özdemir, is trying to take part in the New Media Order. It is trying to reorganize this order in its own way, fairly. These great efforts are realized through the efforts of Cüneyt Özdemir (those who follow him on Twitter know). He drew attention to the issue by connecting to Okan Bayülgen’s program broadcast on March 20, 2011, by phone, explaining his views on the subject and the place of the dipnot.tv site in Social Media, and started to reap the fruits of his efforts.
I don’t think there is a need to explain the opportunities of Social Media; I assume everyone reading this post has a Facebook account. The people who create this power will be able to use this power. The question is how aware we are of this situation and in which direction we can use it. Hope to meet in another post about what this power can change.
Stay social, stay happy!
