A few days ago, while I was riding the bus and listening to music with my headphones on, a voice inside me spoke to me like this.

The mind says: If you own this as well, it will be very good for you. Yes, it was right…
The mind says: If you were there, you would be more comfortable. Yes, it was right.
The mind says: If you were next to that person/thing, it would be wonderful for you. Yes, it was right.

Then suddenly, this came to my mind.

The mind constantly wants better and more beautiful things for us. But in the end, I know that people are always striving, suffering, or causing suffering to achieve something. We strive to reach those beautiful things we imagine, and then we want something else. Then we see, hear new things, and want them again. Then, before we know it, we have grown old, and the things we thought we gained by working and striving no longer bring us joy.

In other words, if we are a bit wise, we see that the mind is not our friend but our enemy. More precisely, by using it this way, we create an enemy for ourselves. So what shall we do? When we are unhappy, when we want something, when we want to be somewhere, we will think of this as a game against us, a game of the mind, and we will begin to give thanks by embracing our own circumstances in our present moment. We will feel the phrase “we heard and we obeyed” in the closest way. Accepting that there are things we do not know, cannot see, cannot hear, or cannot feel, we will be where we are, not where we want to be.

This thought has been in my mind for the past few days, and it has relieved me incredibly. I thank the Owner of everything.
